We have been working with the open source booking system Cal, an alternative to Calendly, for a few months now.
During the initial testing phase, we noticed that some GDPR features were unfortunately not yet implemented. These included fields for privacy policy and imprint fields, as well as the ability to delete cancelled or past appointments. So we contacted Cal's support team and explained that we would be happy to use the software, but only if there was a deletion option. Support responded relatively quickly and made improvements (many thanks at this point 🥳). Cal has been in production with us ever since.
Cal is used to schedule appointments. How much time can be spent on appointments each day, when is the customer available? When are all the people needed for the appointment available? When has everyone responded?
The calendars are linked to our Nextcloud corporate calendar (a calendar that everyone has access to) and to our personal calendars. If we are on holiday or time is blocked, the web view shows that there are no appointments available.
What is particularly exciting is that you can also work with questionnaires in Cal. This means that if there is an interested party who would like to talk to us about a certain topic (e.g. interest in WorkAdventure), we can create a questionnaire in advance that can be filled in so that both sides can go into the conversation well prepared.
Cal gives us the ability to better plan team events and also keep track of individual collectives. Each team member can also use their own individual booking page if they wish.
